WHAT IS CHICKENPOX?
Chickenpox is also known as varicella. It is a very well known virus that causes red, itchy bumps upon human skin. An infectious disease that causes mild fever and a rash of itchy inflamed pimples which turn into blisters and then into loose scabs. It is caused by the varciella zoster virus which is part of the herpes virus family and mainly affects young children. Chickenpox can usually last for a week and it is taken as unpleasant instead of dangerous because treatment can just be simply taken at home. However chickenpox can be severe in some cases and it must be seen by professionals. Chickenpox normally affects the head, chest and back first, then it just spreads to the rest of the body. People may not know that chickenpox can even affect the eyelids, mouth and genitals.
