HOW DOES THE BODY'S IMMUNE AND ENDOCRINE SYSTEM RESPOND TO CHANGES IN IT'S SYSTEM?
The immune system cannot always eliminate viruses and chickenpox happens to be one them. Once someone has had chickenpox they don't get it again, however once you are infected the virus stays in your body for the rest of your life. The immune system stops the virus from becoming active and causing issues/problems. The immune isn't able to protect it perfectly because after chickenpox the virus can settle down in some of our nerve cells. It can become active many years later causing a rash or pain of a disease known shingles. When this virus is activated the immune system instantly reacts to attack the virus so it can deactivate and change into a calm state.
The immune system produces special cells known as antibodies. If the virus is to attack again the immune system responds by quickly producing those antibodies in the blood so that it will settle and control the virus before it takes over the body.
